Aurelio Lech will open December 2008

A multi-million euro refurbishment of the classic Aurelio hotel in Lech Austria is currently being undertaken, to create one of Europe's finest ski lodges.

Lech is established as one of the world's greatest ski resorts and a snowy playground of Europe's rich and famous. Renowned for its five month guaranteed snow season, glamour and quality skiing, the Aurelio Lech will open in December 2008 and aims to achieve 5 star status as a sophisticated mountain retreat with an uncompromising commitment to quality. Just 19 rooms, but 2 spas and a personal Ski Butler, the Aurelio will set the pace for the 2009 ski season.

The Lech ski lift system has a limit on the number of day passes to prevent over-crowding and queuing. A 14,000 limit on the number of day passes is strictly enforced but anyone staying in the village of Lech has a guaranteed pass during their visit.

The Aurelio Hotel is being designed by one of the world's leading interior design companies, Mlinaric, Henry & Zervudachi (MHZ). «Every bedroom and suite will be different, each will be sympathetic to the heritage of this alpine village where independent tradition, a culture of hospitality and a healthy way of life are all its unique qualities. We are aiming for understated elegance, cosy, chic and extremely luxurious, yet the styling is quite simple, so that it feels more like home and no two rooms are identical. Influenced by alpine materials (rough old wood, hewn stone, natural colours and fibres) we are working with internationally and locally sourced materials. Quite simply we are creating a sumptuous and luxurious environment where guests can relax and be pampered after a days skiing» says Tino Zervudachi.

The Aurelio Hotel will feature 19 bedrooms and suites all with views of the snowy slopes — most provide this view directly from the bath tub. The biggest and deepest swimming pool in Lech, 23 metres, will be part of the hotel's Ski Spa which also includes a bio sauna, hot and cold plunge pools, Jacuzzi, Techno-Gym equipment, treatment room and hair dressing salon. Guests will also be able to consult the resident Ski Butlers, to personalise their ski selection from a private ski showroom.
